Black Purl Magic was founded in 2018 by Baltimore native, Shala Jones. The company was originally setup to sell handmade stitch markers. 

In 2019, Shala purchased her first budget friendly sewing machine. That machine plus YouTube university, taught Shala to sew and an empire was birthed! The company became Shala’s full time career in 2021 and has grown exponentially ever since. 

Black Purl Magic is now pleased to offer bags, notions and merch for fiber artists who crave both functional and fun pieces!
